Joyful Learning at Every Age
Infants
Our infant room caters to children aged 6 weeks to about 15 months, depending on when they are ready to transition to the toddler room. Here, babies eat and sleep on their own schedules, and are offered lots of opportunities to move and explore at their own pace. We support them in meeting their developmental milestones with a language-rich environment, safe spaces to explore and play, and attentive, nurturing care.
Toddlers
Our toddler room serves children from 12 months through about 30 months, depending on when they are ready to transition to the preschool classroom. Here, our focus is on facilitating a learning environment that offers organic opportunities for learning through teacher-child and child-child interactions. Learning in the toddler room is solely play-based. The children follow a daily schedule that gives the security of a predictable routine and ample opportunity for free play. The classroom is designed so that children have a safe place to explore freely with centers set up so that they can engage their minds and bodies.
Early Learning
Our Early Learning room is designed to help children aged two and up build the foundational skills needed for kindergarten readiness. We focus on building confidence and independence, socio-emotional skills and the ability to co-regulate, a love of learning and a sense of curiosity, problem-solving and memory skills, and the ability to thrive in a more structured environment. Our learning activities are play-based, designed to enagage the whole child, and adaptable to meet the needs and abilities of each child.
Why do the age ranges for each room overlap?
We understand that every child is unique, and so is their rate of development. We only move a child from one room to the next when the child shows signs of being ready for the transition. This decision is made jointly, with input from the teacher and the parents or guardians. It should be noted that we never move children before they meet the minimum age of the next classroom.
How many children are in each class?
Our infant room holds a maximum of five children with one teacher.
Our toddler room holds a maximum of seven children with one teacher.
Our preschool room holds a maximum of twelve students with one teacher.
